ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Triple P stands for Positive Parenting Program, and supports gentle parenting theory. It draws on social learning, cognitive behavioral and developmental theory, as well as research into risk factors associated with the development of social and behavioral problems in children. It aims to equip parents with the skills and confidence they need to be self-sufficient and manage family issues without ongoing support. Parents will learn gentle parenting techniques and create environments that encourage children to realize their potential.
Triple P is broken up into many levels, including Discussion Groups, Triple P Teen and Primary Care, an individualized approach to specific challenges.
Discussion group topics include:
- Dealing with Disobedience
- Managing Fighting and Aggression
- Developing Good Bedtime Routines
- Hassle-Free Shopping with Children
Teen topics include:
- Getting Teenagers to Cooperate
- Coping with Teenagers' Emotions
- Building Teenagers' Survival Skills
- Reducing Family Conflict
Primary Care topics include:
- Family Support Strategies
- Overall Improvement in Parenting Skills
- Building Positive Relationships with Your Children
