EPIC – Every Person Influences Children Receives Support from
The Grigg Lewis Foundation
The Grigg Lewis Foundation has generously provided funding for EPIC to facilitate Professional Development trainings and workshops and Capacity Building programs in Niagara County. The Grigg Lewis Foundation's vision and purpose is to continue the philanthropic works that began with and were carried on by Henrietta G. Lewis during her lifetime. The foundation's areas of greatest interest include Arts & Culture, Community Improvements, Education, Elderly, Health & Wellness, History/Preservation/Tourism, Human Service, and Youth, with a heavy focus on benefiting the residents of Eastern Niagara County.
Through this partnership EPIC will offer free professional development and capacity building learning opportunities to agencies, schools, and community members. Topics include: Dynamic Group Facilitation, Communication Skills for Challenging Conversations, Differentiated Family Engagement, Parents and Advocates, Ready, Set, Read!, and Tech Savvy: Online Safety.
EPIC - Every Person Influences Children’s mission is to help families, schools and communities raise children to become responsible and successful adults. EPIC provides year-round programming in Parenting Education, which includes Ready, Set, Parent! (offering support and solutions for parents of newborns), parenting classes for parents of young children, and young adolescents; Families in Transition (helping individuals facing challenges reach their full potential as parents); and Just for Teens (enhancing the skills and confidence of pregnant and parenting teens) and Family Engagement, encouraging early literacy and building parents' capacity to become more actively involved in their children's education, through programs such as Ready, Set, Read! (developing family literacy and early intervention for children's academic success); and Storytime (fun family literacy-based event).
