EPIC – Every Person Influences Children is “FULL of Thanks” for The Rite Aid Foundation and General Motors
The Rite Aid Foundation has generously gifted EPIC with a $5,000 grant as part of its Full of Thanks holiday program. Our Executive Director, Tara N. Burgess has decided to use this funding to provide two holiday celebrations. In our first event, Friday December 20, 2019 6-8PM, EPIC will invite all the families who have participated in our parenting education programs this year, to celebrate their efforts in raising their children in a safe and healthy way. For our second event, Saturday December 21, 2019 12-2PM, EPIC has also collaborated with General Motors, whose employees will purchase holiday gifts for five families in need. These families are also past participants. We will celebrate their parenting education success at an exclusive holiday party. *****REGISTRATION FOR THESE EVENTS ARE NOW CLOSED*****
“We have traditionally provided these holiday celebrations yearly. However, due to funding restraints, there was a challenge this year to provide these much-needed celebrations of family,” said Tara N. Burgess. “When we received notice from The Rite Aid Foundation, our entire organization was elated. We are incredibly thankful for the supporters in our community that understand the importance of raising children to become responsible and successful adults.”
“Our KidCents partner charities embody Rite Aid’s commitment to be a caring neighbor in the communities we serve. There is no better time than Giving Tuesday to show our appreciation to these organizations for all they do throughout the year,” said Jessica Kazmaier, president of The Rite Aid Foundation Board of Directors and chief human resources officer for Rite Aid. “This is our way to show we are full of thanks for our partners and the important work they do to provide kids with better lives, brighter futures and increased opportunities.”
