EPIC Receives Grant from Rite Aid Foundation
Every Person Influences Children recently received $5,000 from the Rite Aid Foundation KidCents program.
Funding from this program comes for the generosity of the community in which customers of Rite Aid round up their purchases to the nearest dollar and donate their change to a general fund that supports kid-focused charities.
Additionally, those customers with a wellness+ with Plenti can go online to www.KidCents.com and elect to automatically round up all their purchases and donate the change to KidCents every time they shop at Rite Aid. They can even select a specific KidCents participating charity for the money to go to, such as EPIC.
The money received will support the various FREE year-round, parenting programs EPIC offers throughout the community, including:
- Ready, Set, Parent! – Held the first Saturday of the month, from 1pm – 3pm, at Catholic Health, located at 144 Genesee St., Buffalo. This is positive parenting preparation course for new and expecting parents and covers the three “Terrific T’s” of parenting – Taking Care of Yourself as a Parent; Tuning into Your Baby’s Needs; and Teachable Tips for Early Brain Development.
- Incredible Years – An 8-week evidence-based parenting workshop series is designed for parents to learn skills and strategies on how to enhance their baby’s social, emotional and language development.
- Families in Transition – A parenting series helping individuals who are facing challenges reach their full potential as parents.
