EPIC Receives Grant From M&T Bank for "Storytime at Canalside: The Virtual Chapter"

BUFFALO, NY – EPIC- Every Person Influences Children has received $10,000 from M&T Bank for their annual summer literacy program, Storytime at Canalside. This is the fifth year M&T has funded the program.
"We are so thankful to M&T for their agility and understanding during an uncertain time," says Tara N. Burgess, Executive Director. "While Storytime may look different than years past, EPIC is still committed to delivering this important literacy program."
Storytime is a family-based program that focuses on developing literacy skills and incorporating lessons into themed interactive experiences. Each week will feature a different theme, with local partners like the Albright Knox Art Museum, Buffalo Science Museum, Buffalo Fire Department, Scott Celani Band, Balanced Body Foods and Jada Blitz Fitness all participating.
"Storytime at Canalside is a wonderful way for our community to come together to support literacy and celebrate Western New York," says Jamie Rackl, EPIC's Director of Family Engagement and Professional Development. "The generosity of M&T will allow us to offer a full-circle mix of literacy, art, STEM and more."
Storytime at Canalside kicks off Wednesday, June 24 at 11am. For more information, contact Program Coordinator Alexis Hutsko.
