Families in Transition is a program with a proven track record of helping parents with a variety of challenges to become positive role models for their children. The success of the program has led to discussions regarding potential new or enhanced partnerships with agencies, government, and correctional facilities.
Successfully delivery of Families in Transition requires facilitators to be skilled in providing parenting workshops using group facilitation techniques. Experience in the human services field is also necessary in order to handle challenging issues that may arise.
In addition to 16 hours of general facilitator training, individuals are required to attend an eight-hour advanced facilitator training for working with high-risk populations. The groups are continually supervised by an experienced staff member, which ensures that the quality and fidelity of the program are maintained, regardless of where it is implemented.
